CHARLES STRANDBERG        After teaching high school science for 37 years at St.Ansgar, I waited for Marilyn to retire from teaching English at Rockwell, IA. We immediately left for the southern Texas border to escape the Iowa winters. There I expanded my wood-related hobbies by turning pens and bowls and creating woodcarvings. I spend extensive hours in the woodshop at our resort in Pharr,TX.     With my guitar and banjo, I joined the music community of many other winter Texans and sing and play in country music jams several times a week. We also enjoy dancing, swimming, and eating out.     After snorkeling four Hawaiian islands last year, we decided to tackle Cozumel and the Caribbean this year.     My two sons, John (Kelley) and Jim (Holly), live near Denver, CO and we enjoy seeing John’s three children.. Including Marilyn’s family, we have 10 grandchildren     While attending high school I remember the Swing Shows (with Rose Hall as director), pep band and the excitement of the rodeo.
